    POSITION TITLE: Bus Drivers DIVISION: Logistics
    WORK YEAR: 9 Months DEPARTMENT: Transportation
    LOCATION: Transportation SALARY SCHEDULE: Support Services - GRADE 9

    STARTING HOURLY RATE: $18.49 - $19.33 (PLACEMENT DEPENDS ON SIMILAR EXPERIENCE HELD AND EDUCATION)

    GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:


    The Bus Driver drives buses/vehicles transporting students on assigned routes and special trips; maintains order on bus/vehicles; assists when appropriate students who require specialized transportation being transported as necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned.

    MAJOR DUTIES:
    1. Drive buses/vehicles on regular route transporting students to and from school.
    2. Drive buses/vehicles on field trips.
    3. Clean interior of buses/vehicles daily.
    4. Maintain order on bus.
    5. Provide first-aid assistance as necessary.
    6. Conduct pre- trip and post trip safety check of bus before each route, to include checking fuel and oil at proper operating levels
    7. Prepare and submit necessary reports.


    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. High school diploma or GED preferred.
    2. Possess a valid Arizona Bus Driver Certificate.
    3. Possess a valid IV Fingerprint Clearance Card.
    4. Possess and maintains current First-Aid and CPR certificates.
    5. Ability to interact and relate to students who require specialized transportation.
    6. One year's experience in the operation of buses or vehicles larger than normal automobiles is desired.
    7. Required to complete successfully Arizona Department of Public Safety Bus Driver Performance Assessment annually
    8. Able to speak, read, write and understand English.
    9. Ability to schedule activities, collect data, and use basic job-related equipment.
