DEFINITION:
The Cafeteria Helper Part time performs a variety of duties in the daily operation of preparing and serving meals for students and faculty while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Performs job related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs services in assisting with food preparation and service of such.
2. Assists the Cook and Kitchen Assistant in receiving deliveries and putting away food and supply in the appropriate area; storeroom, cooler, freezer.
3. Sets up or takes down equipment as directed by the Cook and/or Kitchen Assistant
4. Assists in food preparation panning food, wrapping items, making salads, putting foods into serving containers, and arranging foods for heating, storage, or serving.
5. Serves food on serving lines to students and staff during meal periods as directed while maintaining an efficient serving line and ensuring appropriate meal combinations for reimbursement.
6. Empty and sanitize trash receptacles.
7. Maintains cleanliness and safety; cleaning the dining area and kitchen.
8. Washes pots, pans, and other utensils as needed.
9. Assist with the restocking of food items and supplies and preparing inventory of leftovers.
POSITION TITLE: Cafeteria Helper Part time
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must possess a valid Food Handler's card at the time of employment or obtain within first 30 days of employment.
2. Must pass a Tuberculosis Test.
3. Physical ability to lift 30 pounds and perform job duties as directed.
4. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
