Digital and Social Media Specialist

Location: District Administrative Center

EXEMPT Position

Salary Range: $53,881.00 - $71,862.00

Start Date: July 5, 2022

Purpose Statement

The position of Digital and Social Media Specialist within the Marketing and Communications team is responsible for helping to grow the PVSchools brand and digital presence. The ideal candidate for this position is a multi-faceted talent responsible for a wide range of digital communication activities including facilitating all design and creative executions, develop, manage and implement social media strategy to increase brand relevance, visibility and social engagement.

Essential Functions

Create impactful designs in accordance with established District brand guidelines to communicate and showcase the value of the PVSchools brand.

Maintain and successfully apply all brand and style guidelines as warranted based upon the needs of the project.

Strategize, create and push social media content for all social media campaigns (organic and paid) through Districts primary social media channels.

Schedule automation, engage audiences, grow reach and build brand relevance and awareness.

Maintain and regularly update the Districts social media editorial calendar.

Establish key performance indicators for social media channels and track, analyze, report and provide recommendations on a quarterly basis to improve effectiveness against established goals.

Stay current and utilize the latest design and social media industry best practices.

Experience with updating and maintaining websites with html/css. Understands enough html/css to manage creative and content updates and ensure content meets WCAG 2.0 (level AA) guidelines.

Works collaboratively with marketing and communications team to help support other tasks as needed.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge/Skills required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:

A demonstrable foundation in typography, visual digital design, and concept ideation-a portfolio with plenty of examples.

Excellent knowledge of social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.

Solid knowledge of web and social media tools used to measure results, such as Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, YouTube and Twitter analytics, Sprout Social, Tweetdeck, and HootSuite.

A passion for and understanding social media technologies and their role in marketing brands.

Experience collaborating with diverse teams and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Ability to keep the big picture in mind, but flexible and able to change gears quickly as necessary.

Experience with social media monitoring and optimization for user engagement and metrics reporting.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong ability to justify strategic actions with metrics.

Proficient in the use of cloud based tools such as Google tools.

Proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite/Photoshop Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat.

Proactive problem solver who is keen to innovate and make things happen.

Works well with others on the team to build constructive & effective relationships.

Experience with updating and maintaining web sites with html/css.

Knowledge of ADA compliance standards for web and social media is a plus.

Ability is required to schedule activities and/or meetings; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a variety of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and utilize equipment under a variety of conditions for multiple purposes. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate to significant. Responsibility

Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized routines; providing information and/or advising others; utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the jobs functions. There is a continual opportunity to have some impact on the organizations services.

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands; some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. And significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking and 20% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years experience designing for print, interactive media, web, mobile and digital/social media marketing.

Relevant work experience working as part of a Marketing/Communication Design team, either as part of an agency or an in-house team.

Self-directed with excellent time-management skills.

Education: Bachelors degree from a four-year accredited university in graphic design, digital media and/or social media equivalent combination of education and experience.
