    JOB DESCRIPTION Paraprofessional- CTE

    TITLE: Paraprofessional- CTE (Agriculture Program) FTE: 0.875

    FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt HOURS PER DAY: 7

    WORK CALENDAR: 195 days

    COMPENSATION: Classified Non Exempt Compensation Guide (Starting at $17.68/hour)

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Assists with learning activities within the construction classroom and lab

    2. Monitors lab assignments given by the teacher

    3. Maintains confidential classroom student files and records

    4. Assists with inventory and accounting procedures of career and technical education

    5. Assists with learning activities within the classroom, animal lab or greenhouse and land lab

    6. Assists with clerical duties involving the FFA (rosters, computer assistance to students working with SAE records, etc.)

    7. Assists students and teachers in preparation for fairs, as well as local, state and national competitions

    8. Communicates with teachers regarding the students needs and progress

    9. Assists teacher during field trips

    10. Assists with student testing

    11. Prepares materials for lab use

    12. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issues

    13. Provide a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents and community

    14. Perform responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner

    15. Maintain punctual and regular attendance

    16. Perform other related duties as assigned

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications for this job description are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

    Education / Certificate

    1. Associate of Arts degree preferred or paraprofessional certification required

    2. Must possess knowledge of FFA and enthusiasm for assisting with FFA activities

    3. Must be eligible to obtain district drivers license to be able to drive district vehicles

    4. Must have and maintain a valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card

    Experience

    1. Prior experience working with Career and Technical Education students desired

    2. Must possess knowledge and experience in agriculture (animal/plant science, crop production, etc.)

    Communication Skills

    1. Must have good speaking, reading and writing skills

    2. Must possess positive attitude toward students, teachers, staff and parents/guardians

    3. Bilingual communication is beneficial

    Computer Skills

    1. Knowledge of Google Suites

    2. Must possess basic computing and clerical skills
