    POSITION SUMMARY
    Enhances the educational services provided in MUSD by providing support for acceleration and credit recovery. Provides guidance and relevant information for success using online learning and alternative credit options provided through MUSD. Supervises a classroom of students to ensure safety and emotional well-being while on campus. Coordinates efforts for acceleration and credit recovery with relevant systems on campus, including administration, counseling, and teaching staff. Provides at-risk students with structure, accountability and academic support necessary to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Enrolls students in web-based courses and maintains or requests records to monitor student progress.
    • Coordinates with the Districts e-learning vendors to trouble shoot or set up programs for students.
    • Establishes and maintains database to track students progress and results. Analyzes results and recommends strategies for improvement of program based on findings.
    • Supervises students in lab settings and structures the E-learning environment to meet learning goals.
    • Work with students and parents to develop positive intervention plans and accountability for students who may be struggling in academic classes.
    • Work with chronically absent students and their parents to develop positive intervention plans for accountability.
    • Develops plans for specific parent support and education where needed.
    • Coordinates district, family and community resources as needed for staff, students and families.
    • Participates with appropriate school teams (IEP, student study teams, etc.) as needed.
    • Provides individual student behavior support during the school day as needed.
    • Prepares reports and maintains student records, census reports and other related documentation.
    • Proctors assessments.
    • Maintains related records.
    • Performs related duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Demonstrate general proficiency in computers and computer internet and Web-based programs.
    • Knowledge of accepted behavior management techniques and practices.
    • Demonstrate general proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Strong listening skills.
    • Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instruction.
    • Ability to assist middle and high school students in all curricula.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
    • Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents and community members.
    • Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Experience working with at-risk students and their parents, including creating appropriate programs and interventions.
    • Exceptional communication skills with at-risk students and their parents and the ability to work with people who have a variety of skills, backgrounds, and temperaments.
    • Must possess a patient, positive, and proactive attitude in dealing with students and parents facing difficult challenges.
    • Previous experience working with Web-based education
    • Any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that meets minimum requirements

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • College degree or equivalent

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    Indoors environment. The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet to moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Will have contact with students, staff and the public.

    $15.65/hour (ASRS Retirees will have a lower hourly rate due to the Alternate Contribution Rate)

    10 Month position - 8 hours/day
