- Prepare a master sports calendar for games/events.
- Secure and file the paperwork for equipment lease requests involving the athletic department.
- Inventories, orders and stocks supplies. Ensures other equipement and supplies needs are met at school sites.
- Organize direct supervision of students during Athletic events, activities, programs and practices including assisting in supervision at home athletic contests and selection of coaches for the athletic program.
- Collaborates with internal and external personnel (e.g. other teachers, administrators, public agencies, community members, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and/or maintaining services and programs.
- Be familiar with the gyms, buildings and athletic fields use.
- Coordinate gym use for practices and games and give final clearance for the use of either the gym or the athletic field. Secures other event locations such as for tournaments.
- Work with coaching staff and transportation supervisor to schedule all athletic departure times and provide bus supervision with trip sheets.
- Take care of travel arrangements and overnight accommodations for players or athletic teams (and coaches) competing in postseason competition.
- Seek and recommend suitable competition for all non-conference events/games.
- Confirm officials contracts and all non-conference contest contracts.
- Secure game workers for athletic contests, chain crews, announcers, clock operators, scorekeepers, line judges, etc. and submit the list of contacted workers for that contest to the event supervisor prior to the event.
- Submit athletic expense request sheets for payment of officials and other workers to district office.
- Coordinate the collection of rosters for program information as needed.
- Act as a resource person and coordinator for all coaches.
- Maintain First Aid/CPR and Concussion Training records for all coaches.
- Hold coaches meetings as well as family meetings before each season to share information about sportsmanship and player/parent expectations.
- Evaluates student injuries, determines course of action, performs minor first aid in compliance with District policy (ies) and completes required paperwork in a timely fashion.
- Evaluate all athletic programs on an annual basis. Make recommendations for improvement to the building principal and district administrator.
- Complete an evaluation form and hold a conference with all coaches within three weeks after the conclusion of their sport season in partnership with administration.
- Mediate the resolution of problems, issues, and concerns that may arise between coaches, the community, and athletic programs.
- Provide a channel through which students and the community may express their concerns about an athletic program.
- Collect and maintain on file a properly completed physical card or alternate year physical card for every student participating in athletics.
- Distribute athletic training rules yearly to all athletic participants. Collect and maintain on file a signed copy of student letters of intent.
- Administer the school athletic code in a fair and consistent manner that is within the intent of the code.
- Ensure district adherence to all AIA and district policies, administrative rules, procedures, and codes relating to and participation in athletics.
- Order Post season awards for each program.
- Attends in-service meetings and trainings as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to use good judgement in establishing priorities and making decisions in the absence of specific direction.
- Team player, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the District staff, administrators, media, parents, and the community.
- Ability to use discretion in releasing or distributing confidential information.
- Works effectively under pressure on multiple projects at once and meet deadlines.
- Capable of working independently and across workgroups.
- At least three years coaching experience at the middle level or student teaching.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Must be willing to coach while maintaining the essential duties and responsibilities of an Athletic Director.
- Knowledge and ability to perform duties in full compliance with all district, Board of Education, state and federal laws, methods, requirements, policies, procedures, and activities pertinent to the duties of this position.
- Knowledge of AIA website.
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred but not necessary.
- Required Bachelors Degree in education or related field
- Valid Arizona Teacher Certificate
- Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Knowledge athletic or art position as applicable
- Possess a current CPR & First Aid Certification
- NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching
- NFHS Concussion in Sports
- NFHS First Aid Health & Safety

COMPENSATION: $3,500 Stipend
JOB DESCRIPTION: Position is responsible for managing and overseeing Athletic Programs within the district.
