    TITLE: Lead Counselor Stipend

    CLASSIFICATION: Certified Non-Teacher

    REPORTS TO: Director of Student Wellness

    SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing leadership to the school counselor group, management of District counseling services, participating in the Student Wellness Department leadership team.

    COMPENSATION: $5000.00 Stipend

    WORK YEAR: Yearly

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Model best practices in respective field
    2. Schedule, plan and present regular team meetings
    3. Provide input regarding evaluations of staff in their respective field
    4. Mentor and train new staff in their respective field
    5. Support and coach all staff in their respective field
    6. Participate in the interview process for new hires
    7. Organize coverage for long and short term absences
    8. Provide assistance, technical expertise and advice to the Teaching and Learning Division
    9. Organize and facilitate crisis management in area of expertise/discipline in collaboration with Director of SEL and Project Aware Supervisor
    10. Provide input and support to Teaching and Learning Division for development of individual and group professional growth/improvement.
    11. Other Department related duties as assigned

    EDUCATION:
    • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field required
    LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
    • Licensed with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners, (Associate or Independent license) preferred
    • Current Arizona Standard School Counselor Certificate required
    EXPERIENCE:
    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in counseling
    • Experience working with diverse populations

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
    • Knowledge and understanding of American School Counselor Association
    • Knowledge of community resources
    • Ability to work effectively with District and school site administrators, teachers, support staff, parents and community agency
    Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
