340B Coordinator / Phamacy Technician

Job Description

The 340B coordinator is responsible for conducting a variety of monitoring, evaluating and auditing, with a specific focus on the 340B drug program. This includes assisting the pharmacy operations manager to ensure 340B program integrity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Monitor and track changes relevant to 340B requirements.
  2. Perform audits on a scheduled basis; may involve presenting and resolving reconciliation issues as they arise during the monitoring and reconciliation process.
  3. Perform monthly audits of contract pharmacies.
  4. Develop systems and processes to limit program liabilities and provide proper audits to identify risk and prevent duplicate discounts and diversion.
  5. Ensure compliance with 340B program requirements for qualified patients, drugs, and locations.
  6. Help ensure that MPHC maintains adherence to the 340B program regulations and guidelines.
  7. Help ensure appropriate utilization of the 340B program and compliance with all program requirements.
  8. Reviews 340B program policies and procedures on an ongoing basis and offer contributions and changes to ensure 340B compliance.
  9. Help develop training material for all staff and leaders who work with the 340B program.
  10. Conduct ongoing 340B program training for staff through presentations and written material.
  11. Provide proactive education to staff on policies and procedures related to inventory management and 340B procedures.
  12. Develop a thorough understanding of the 340B program. Strive to consistently improve the overall efficiency, value, and internal support of the 340B program.
QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 3-5 years of pharmacy experience with extensive knowledge of the 340B program or High School Diploma. Must have excellent organizational, planning, and computer skills (excel, word, etc.).

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Ability to write effectively including training materials and curriculum for both front line staff and management team.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Current license as a pharmacy technician in the state of Arizona and PTCB certified.
