The Warehouse Supply Technician I plays a crucial role in the operational efficiency of the warehouse, ensuring the accurate receiving, storing, and dispatching of goods within the facility. This position involves handling a wide range of materials, from raw supplies to finished products, and requires a strong attention to detail and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and safety protocols. Some key responsibilities include:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
  • Maintains reorder point records for and reordering supplies when minimum balance is reached.
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
  • Process requisitions, pull and distribute items to shipping or to designated areas, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.
  • Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Follow proper handling procedures for various materials, including hazardous substances, to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assist in routine cleanup of warehouse and other storage areas, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring that items are properly packed and labeled according to company and regulatory standards.
  • Track inventory balances and reorder supplies when necessary, minimizing stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Coordinate the logistics of shipments, including scheduling, tracking, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials, updating inventory management systems as required.
  • Conduct regular physical inventories and reconciliations to ensure system accuracy.
  • Perform courier and interdepartmental delivery services, as required.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and six months of stocking, receiving, and/or inventory management experience.

(Any equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment may be substituted.)

Preferred Qualifications: (Be specific in describing your experience in your application. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies, specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):

  1. Experience working with computer programs Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  2. Experience with/knowledge in customer service and time management.
  3. Minimum one (1) year experience working interdepartmentally, interdisciplinary, and/or with diverse populations.
  4. Experience with communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Experience with administrative/clerical duties.
  6. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Selection Procedure:
Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum/desired qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum/desired qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.
Supplemental Information

Licenses and Certificates: Valid driver license is required at time of application. Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicants suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Fleet Services review and approval of the candidates driving record.

Special Notice Items: The County requires pre-employment background checks. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history, education, and criminal conviction history. A prior criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment with the County.

Physical/Sensory Requirements: The ability to: lift, push, pull and carry 50 pounds or more; stoop and bend; wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); and independently move and manipulate heavy objects. Other physical and sensory abilities will be determined by position.
