Pay Range

Hiring Range: $15.75 - $18.51 Per Hour
Full Range: $15.75 - $21.26 Per Hour


Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.


This position, with multiple openings, performs clerical work involving the preparation and maintenance of materials supplies, and equipment used in the election process. Duties/Responsibilities

(Work assignments may vary depending on the department's needs and will be communicated to the applicant or incumbent by the supervisor.)

Processes early ballots for tabulation;

Prepares election supplies and voting machines for delivery to poll locations;

Makes minor mechanical and electrical repairs on voting equipment;

Loads and unloads election supplies and other materials;

Transports and receives election ballots, returns, and precinct supplies.


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Knowledge of:

  • basic arithmetic principles;
  • operation and maintenance of election voting equipment;
  • basic office practices;
  • basic safety procedures for moving supplies and material.

Skill in:
  • following written and oral instructions;
  • communicating effectively;
  • performing operator-level maintenance on assigned equipment;
  • understanding and interpreting street guides or maps;
  • moving supplies and materials
Minimum Qualifications

Must be a registered voter with current registration in Pima County.

Preferred Qualifications: (Be specific in describing your experience in your application. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies, specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):

  1. Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand, walk, stoop, and push.
  2. Ability to work in a warehouse environment (hot/cold) for 8 hours.
  3. Experience receiving, storing, distributing, and inventory supplies
  4. Experience operating delivery vehicles; loading, and unloading supplies and materials
  5. Experience the usage of ladders & pallet jacks or forklifts.
Selection Procedure:
Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum/desired qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum/desired qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidates from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process. Supplemental Information

Licenses and Certificates: A valid driver's license is required at the time of application. Valid AZ driver's license is required at the time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine the applicants suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Fleet Services review and approval of the candidates driving record.

Special Notice Items: Must be available to work on-call, as needed, and work overtime for extended periods of time. The County requires pre-employment background checks. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history, education, and criminal conviction history.
