Position Summary

The Division of Hospital Medicine, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking an Academic Coordinator. The individual will be motivated,friendly and technically skilled. The individual will not only serve as aLiaison for the division, he/she will be responsible for managing severalfaculty support programs as well as providing high-level administrative supportto our leadership including the Division Chief, Section Chiefs and UnitAdministrator. The day-to-day support will include coordination of theaccounting and budgeting activities, collection and tracking quality measuresand support of contracts and Memorandums of understanding includingcoordinating faculty incentives and Non-standard pays. Coordinating newinitiatives related to faculty development and education. The ideal candidatewill possess excellent communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills withthe ability to plan and manage project details independently.

The Division of Hospital Medicine is the largestdivision in the Department of Internal Medicine department. It is a divisionwith high volume requests. The dynamics are diverse in nature, with a dedicatedteam working to provide quality work in an organized, effective and efficientmanner through innovation, training, and education. Through our collaborativework effort, we support the faculty and enhance the missions of the division,the department, School of Medicine and Health Sciences Center.

The Department of Internal Medicine is a large, progressivedepartment with a diverse staff working in dedicated teams to provide qualitywork in an organized, effective and efficient manner through innovation,training, and education. Conditions of Employment
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Abilityto analyze and interpret financial data, pay entries and prepare financialreports, statements and/or projections
  • Experiencein finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control procedures.
  • Strongtask and time management skills.
  • Proficiencywith office technology and Microsoft programs.
  • Experiencewith standard office operations including; policies and procedures.
  • Abilityto make administrative and procedural decisions and judgements on sensitive,confidential issues.
  • Abilityto organize and coordinate special projects to completion.
  • Experience supervising lower level staff to include performance management, training and project delegation and follow-up.
