Academic Program Manager - College of Education

Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to all college staff regarding issues related to all academic programs, projects and other issues related to the operation of the College.
  • Prepares documents required for approval of new programs and program revisions for review by university leadership.
  • Supervises and coordinates day to day operations of College of Education academic programs including Arizona Department of Education program submissions and biennial reports as well as University Assessment Committee program reviews.
  • In cooperation with faculty and COE Programs Team colleagues, develops and manages curriculum.
  • Works to coordinate activities between multiple internal and external service areas with a clear student-centered focus.
  • Attends conferences, meetings and participates on committees internal to the college and university.
  • Responds to requests for information from faculty, staff, students, outside agencies, and community partners.
  • Approves course substitution and course approval requests, seeking input from the Dean and Faculty when required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Masters degree required
  • Education experience and knowledge

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Teaching experience and certification.

  • Three or more years related experience in higher education environment preferred.
  • Able to interact with all levels within GCU.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates the ability to communicate with all levels within GCU.
  • Strong Analytical Skills - Able to synthesize complex or diverse information, collect and research data, and design work flows and procedures.
  • Student-oriented. Exhibits the highest standards of dedication and commitment to quality service to meet or exceed student requirements.
  • Problem-solving ability. Able to identify problems, evaluate alternative solutions, and make final recommendations.

  • Good planning and organizational skills with the ability to anticipate potential problems or obstacles and resolve.
