Job Title: Accompanist Exemption Status/Test: Nonexempt

Primary Purpose:
Provide instrumental accompanist for choir programs.
Qualifications:Education/Certification:
High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Advanced piano skills
Advanced music theory skills
Advanced sight reading skills
Experience:
Previous experience as an accompanist preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:Perform piano accompaniment for practices, rehearsals, performances and competitions
Lead sectional rehearsals
Coach solos and ensembles
Provide assistance to substitutes by leading rehearsals when needed
Help keep administrative records and prepare required reports
Help supervise students
Keep supervising staff members informed of special needs/situations
Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance
Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned
Maintain confidentiality
Perform other duties as assigned.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment
Posture: Moderate standing; occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, and stooping
Motion: Moderate walking
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
