Position Summary |
The College of Education and Human Sciences (COEHS)Office of Research Engagement (ORE) seeks applicants for an Accountant 2 tosupport contract and grant post-award oversight, coordination, andadministration. This position will jointhe Colleges research team, under the leadership of the Associate Dean forResearch and Distance Education, to provide support to and management of thenumerous research projects across the COEHS. The successful candidate must have effectiveinterpersonal communication and problem-solving skills and possess the abilityto multi-task and prioritize daily duties and projects. Applicants should have the knowledge and theability to interpret local, state, federal, and private funding, contracts, andgrants ensuring compliance with fiscal accountability and reporting and fundingrequirements. The qualified candidate will be responsible for managing funds,including monitoring and monthly reconciliation of indexes, preparing, andupdating monthly financial statements and projection reports, and processingfinancial transactions such as labor redistributions, non-standard payments,and requisitions. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with a strongaccounting background in both unrestricted and sponsored projects accounting(i.e., Contracts and Grants) ensuring compliance with regulationsand supporting faculty. Minimum Qualifications |
Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 12 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
