Job Description

In this role, you will classify, examine, and analyze accounting records, prepare related financial reports and statements for management, and handle moderately complex accounting duties.

  1. Perform general accounting activities including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of certain ledger accounts relating to accounts receivable (AR)
  2. Reconciliation of cash accounts, including research and follow-up of outstanding items
  3. Receive and post customer payments on a timely basis
  4. Prepare, record, analyze, and report accounting transactions and ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  5. Oversee and approve certain journal entries, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger and validating those transactions with bank reports
  6. Conduct or assist in the documentation of accounting projects
  7. Perform special projects as assigned
  8. Model behaviors that support the companys common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
  9. Ensure all activities comply with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  10. Complete other duties as assigned

Additional Duties

  • Assist with various month-end close tasks
  • Support, guide, and assist the Cash Applications team specifically
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate required
  • Bachelors degree in finance or accounting is strongly preferred
  • Minimum two years experience in accounting or related area required
  • General Ledger experience strongly preferred

Specialized Knowledge

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills with a focus on Excel
  • Intermediate knowledge of general ledger (GL) accounting software
  • Experience with customer account databases a plus
