Job Description
The Accountant III position will be responsible for general accounting functions within Fixed Assets. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger accounting including additions, disposals, replacements, new initiatives, and remodels, along with various analyses and reconciliation preparation.
Duties:
The following duties are typical for this position, but are not limited to:
- Review and execute additions, disposals, and adjustments to Fixed Assets
- Assist in review of Capital vs Expense decisions and research
- Review capital invoices, ensuring assets are capitalized in accordance with GAAP and the Companys capitalization policy
- Work closely with AP team maintaining general ledger coding for internal orders related to Capital Purchases
- Prepare monthly journal entries as required to accurately close monthly period
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, including documentation to support all balances
- Prepare various monthly accounting reporting for internal distribution
- Work cross-functionally with the Development, IT, and Purchasing departments on CapEx projects.
- Assist with the preparation of audit requests, internal and external
- Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
- Actively participate in documenting and evaluating current procedures to ensure continuous improvements
- Other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
- Excellent MS Excel, while proficient in overall MS Office Programs
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) concepts and terminology
- Deadline-oriented with excellent time management skills
- Very organized and detail orientated
- Ability to multitask in a fast pace environment
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
- Problem analysis and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong team player who is able to work and influence across multiple functions
- Adaptable to change
- SAP experience is a plus
Education:
- Bachelors in Accounting or Finance required
- 2-5 years of accounting experience required
