Due to continued growth and expansion, Pepsi MidAmerica has an opening in their Financial Accounting Department for an Accountant. The successful candidate will report to the Controller of PMA. Some of the duties of the position include: the preparation of monthly and quarterly forecasts, financial reports, financial forecasts and analysis and maintenance of the general ledger and fixed asset ledger.
Accountant - Regional manufacturing firm has an open position for an experienced accountant. Ideal candidate will possess a bachelor degree in accounting, and three or more years of experience in accounting in either a public accounting, or manufacturing firm. This position is responsible for journal entry preparation, multi-state sales tax reporting, financial statement preparation and presentation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Responsible for financial statement preparation for designated departments and areas in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Prepare various monthly journal entries and duties as part of the monthly closing process.
- Reconcile assigned general ledger and sub ledger accounts. Research discrepancies and post adjustments.
- Assist department heads with developing operating and capital expenditure budgets. Oversee checkbook maintenance.
- Assist in preparation for monthly departmental financial reviews. Research actual vs. budget variances, line item details, etc.
- Meet with respective department heads on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Assist with annual financial audit, benefit plans audit, workmans compensation audit, income tax return preparation, etc.
Credentials and Experience:
o Bachelor degree in accounting
