Loan Servicing Specialist
Department: Accounting
Location: Gilbert, AZ

$45k-$55K **Pay Commensurate with Experience**

Executive Summary of Position:

To manage the position and flow of our servicing portfolio. Also, to make sure the interim servicing process is properly controlled and administrated.

To act as a conduit between assigned department to the rest of the business by identifying business needs, establishing actionable recommendations, and to coordinate and manage implementation of change across the whole business.

Essential Duties:

  • Process first payment letter, first payments and apply to appropriate account in accounting system and servicing system.
  • Process MI Monthly, Property Taxes and Insurance payments and apply to appropriate account in accounting system and servicing system.
  • Create Payment Histories for borrowers, investors and other departments
  • Review and resolve customer inquiries regarding Insurance, Payments, etc.
  • Reconcile monthly GL accounts and Bank Statements
  • File necessary tax forms i.e. 1098 at the end of each tax year
  • Enter necessary journal entries from servicing portfolio into the accounting system
  • Process Goodbye Letters
  • Communicate with Sub-Servicer and manage their reports
  • Work with members of other departments (Closing, Secondary, Production, etc.) to provide support as necessary.
  • Help the department manager and other department team members to gather and analyze data for various reports.
  • Work on special projects as assigned by department manager.

  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • Report any potential or actual violations of such policies, practices or procedures to Compliance Manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience working for a non-default residential mortgage servicing company in one of the following capacities:
    • Report principal and interest collection activity.
    • Remit funds due to investor/GSE.
    • Resolve reporting and remitting variances.
    • Reconcile custodial accounts.
  • Represent AmeriFirst Financial in a positive and professional way in dealing with clients and staff.
  • Excellent Customer Service and persistent follow-up and follow through.
  • Reasoning ability and problem solving.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and speak effectively with customers, employees, or vendors.
  • Basic computer skill to include electronic mail, word processing, fax, scan, copy, and some spreadsheets. Knowledge of Word and Outlook.
