Job Description

Job duties include interacting with customers, both internal and external, accepting payments from ASU students for student accounts, and answering student and departmental inquiries. This position requires prior cash handling experience and excellent verbal communication skills, general University knowledge, and basic computer skills utilizing MS Office as well as Peoplesoft.

 

Salary Range

$17.50 per hour

Essential Duties

·        Cash-handling duties, receiving cash, checks & deposits from both ASU students and departments.

·        Accurately balance teller drawer and prepare daily deposits and other related paperwork.

·        Disburse refunds, cash advances, and other checks as needed.

·        Research student account information and process transactions in a confidential office setting.

·        General office duties including answering telephones, Xeroxing, filing, running errands, and other duties as assigned.

 

DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM

 

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in Business Administration or related field AND one (1) year of related experience; OR,Three (3) years related accounting experience; OR,Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

 

Desired Qualifications

·        Experience in a high-volume customer service environment.

·        Experience using a personal computer including MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook.

·        Demonstrated knowledge of Peoplesoft or a similar student information system.

·        Evidence of effective communication skills.

 

Working Environment

·        Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.

·        Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.

·        Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.

·        Clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
