Department Statement:
Student Business Services provides the university community in a professional, accessible, customer focused, efficient, and innovative manner by timely processing financial transactions and providing accounting, financial management reporting, financial system training, and treasury management services.
$20.41 USD Hourly
Job Description:
A successful candidate, not presently employed within Financial Services, will be paid a signing bonus of $750 and a $1,250 bonus after completing six months of employment within the department.
Essential Duties:
- Cash-handling - receive and process cash and check payments from ASU students and departments.
- Process departmental deposits in Peoplesoft, allocating funds to each account, and accurately entering accounting information for each deposit.
- Accurately balance teller drawer and prepare daily deposits and other related paperwork.
- Research student account information and process transactions in a confidential office setting.
- Update policies and procedures as changes occur.
- Contact departments, account representatives and other parties to resolves problems.
- General office duties including answering telephones, filing, scanning, running errands, and other duties as assigned.
- DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday- Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior Cashiering and money handling experience.
- Experience in a high-volume customer service environment and using Salesforce and/or any other customer service portal.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge of Peoplesoft or a similar student information system.
- Experience in a university setting and /or familiarity with federal regulations pertaining to student information.
- Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills.
Working Environment:
- Work in an office setting and use office equipment (i.e. computers, printers, copiers, calculators, telephones).
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
- Clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
- Read-interpret written and oral instructions/directions
- Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma and three years (3) experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
