Accounts Payable Specialist - Competitive hourly rate will depend on skill, knowledge and experience and subject to negotiations. High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. 1+ year Accounts Payable and Purchasing experience. Bookkeeping and/or Accounting experience and use of Infinite Vision system.

JOB SUMMARY

As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you help ensure students have access to high quality education they need to learn in a safe and healthy environment by providing direction to the overall fiscal affairs of the district. You will also have the opportunity to provide and grow in a leadership role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain complete and accurate vendor information, prepare vouchers, issue payments, and manage other Accounts Payable functions

Oversee purchase order process, including approval of PO, necessary revisions, and closure

Communicate with vendors, schools, and departments regarding statuses of PO's

Act as Assistant Student Activities Treasurer, processing payments and maintaining banking activity

Oversee district credit card procedures and maintain, distribute, and reconcile monthly credit card statements

Accurately documents, records and reconciles general fixed assets

Maintain fiscal and financial records and files in accordance with policies

Participate in professional development and continuous enhancement of role and responsibilities

Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma/GED or equivalent

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

1+ year Accounts Payable and Purchasing experience. Bookkeeping and/or Accounting experience and use of Infinite Vision system

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of:

Basic tax forms and procedures, including end-of-year processes

Bookkeeping with regard to accounts payable processes

Skilled in:

Maintaining accurate, efficient record keeping processes

Mathematical and analytical thinking

Critical thinking and problem-solving

Written and verbal communication

Core Competencies:

Work independently and prioritize from a variety of tasks

Adapt to changing technology and utilize available tools and resources

We are a Pre-K through 8th grade school district in Phoenix, Arizona, established as the seventh school district organized in Maricopa County in 1879 and named for Mr. W. J. Wilson, a school board member. The district name was changed in the mid-1930s to Hawkins School. From Wilson to Hawkins to Ward to Skiff, the District was bought by Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and relocated to its current location in the early 1980s and named Wilson Primary and Wilson Elementary, opening on Martin Luther King Day in 1985. The district boundaries cover an area from Roosevelt Street to the north; the Salt River to the south; 40th Street to the east; and, 16th Street to the west.
