As an adjunct faculty member, youll provide program instruction incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies and other industry trends reflecting advancements in your discipline. Immediate part-time, Traditional Campus instructors needed for NUR-631: Advanced Physiology and Pathophysiology.

This course is held on Thursdays from 5 PM - 9 PM. This class runs 1 evening a week at the Main Campus, starting 5/6/2021-8/25/2021.

Only applicants living in Phoenix and the surrounding areas will be considered. Candidates that are available during these times are encouraged to apply.

NUR-631: Advanced Physiology and Pathophysiology.

This course focuses on advanced physiology and pathophysiology principles. This course is used to guide the advanced nursing practice learner in understanding normal function and interpreting changes in normal function that result in symptoms and diagnostic markers indicative of illness. Emphasis is placed on the following systems: cellular environment and inflammatory changes; fluids, electrolytes and acid-base balance; genetics, genetic diseases, and the role of the environment; stress, disease, and the development of neoplasms; hematology and alterations in immunity. In addition, the physiology and pathophysiology of the endocrine, pulmonary, renal, digestive and integumentary, cardiovascular and lymphatic, musculoskeletal, reproductive, and neurological systems, including mood disorders, are addressed.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession. Other main responsibilities include the following:

  • Must be able to teach at the Main Phoenix Campus 1 evening a week:
  • Must be able to teach on Thursdays from 5 PM - 9 PM, starting 5/6/2021-8/25/2021 at the Main Campus in Phoenix
  • Campus evening course pay is more, as compared to online

Requirements:

  • Preferred: Doctorate in Medicine (MD or DO) Masters in Physician Assistant Studies, APRN Masters in Nursing.
  • APRNs must maintain an active unencumbered license. Current board certification required in area of practice.
  • 2 years professional experience.
  • Proficient in English, Grammar, and writing in APA format.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the Universitys Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
  • Must be able to teach at the Phoenix Main Campus during the days and times listed above.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screen.
