Program: Master of Science in Business Analytics

Offered by the Colangelo College of Business, the MS in Business Analytics degree is ideal for students who possess practical industry experience and are looking for a pathway toward greater career fulfillment. The master's in business analytics degree emphasizes big data analytics, and the objective application of analytical methods to address specific business problems.

The Master of Science in Business Analytics degree concludes with the Applied Capstone Project. Students gain practical experience through an applied project that explores a specific aspect of analytics.

Course Description: MIS-690: Applied Capstone Project

This course builds upon the techniques and tools presented in prior courses in the program. Students undertake an applied project focused on a specific area of analytics within an organization. Students use critical thinking skills to frame analytics problems, build and apply appropriate analytics models, and communicate relevant findings within a business setting.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession. Other main responsibilities include the following:

• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the Universitys Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Qualifications:

• Preferred: PhD or other terminal degree with an emphasis in Data Analytics.
• Minimum: Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or Masters in Information Technology AND 5 or more years of experience in data analytics.
• Additional required skills including Descriptive, Predictive and Prescriptive statistics with emphasis in R-statistical programming language or Python.
