Position Summary

The University of New Mexico Division of Human Resources offers a rewarding temporary career opportunity for the position of Administrative Assistant 3. The successful candidate will provide critical administrative support to the HR Client Services team, which supports a variety of HR functions.

This position will be part of the administrative support team and perform a variety of administrative and staff support duties including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Overseeing the office's operations and tracking and addressing customer/client inquiries via email/telephone/in-person and resolving a variety of administrative inquiries.
  • Maintaining various data points, conducting post audits, and maintaining databases.

This is a potential temp-to-regular opportunity, subject to the selected candidates performance throughout the temporary assignment, in addition to the business needs of the hiring department. This position is considered a confidential employee and is not covered by the CWA Bargaining Unit.

Assignment Details:

Days & Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

Anticipated Start Date: February 1, 2021

Projected End Date: January 31, 2022

Parking Arrangements: Responsibility of the selected employee

UNMTemps provides staffing solutions to UNM departments requesting temporary employees as positions become available due to a vacancy, when regular employees are absent, for peak work periods, and for special events. As such, UNMTemps assignments/positions may end with little or no advance notice.

Conditions of Employment
  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

The successful candidate should have the following displayed in their work experience:

  • Scheduling appointments in Microsoft Outlook
  • Preparing reports and working with Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets
  • Maintaining data in Microsoft Access databases
  • Solid written communication skills as evidenced in your cover letter
  • Experience in Banner or other Human Resource Information System
