POSITION SUMMARY:
The Commission on Judicial Conduct is responsible for investigating complaints against judges and other judicial officers under Article 6.1 of the Arizona Constitution. Like similar agencies throughout the country, the Commission seeks to protect the integrity of the judiciary and to promote public confidence in the judicial system.

The Commission is an independent state agency. It consists of eleven members (six judges, three public members and two attorneys) and a small staff located in Phoenix. The Commission processes approximately 400 complaints against judges each year and provides staff support for the Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee, which issues advisory opinions to judges and court employees throughout the state. The Commission is seeking an Administrative Assistant II to provide general administrative support to the Commission and other staff. This position reads and analyzes newly submitted complaints, opens and assigns case numbers, tracks the processing of complaints, prepares and disseminates mailings, enters case information in the Commissions case management information system (JCMIS), and serves as back-up to the Commission Specialist. The work also includes scanning, redacting, uploading zip files to SharePoint, creating Google forms, and preparing cases for posting on the Commissions website. The position provides phone support, including handling calls from members of the public, setting up conference calls, and mailing complaint forms.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will hold a high school diploma or GED, have three years of administrative assistant experience, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position also requires experience using Microsoft applications, strong detail orientation, the ability to multi-task, and the ability to maintain the confidentiality of Commission records and proceedings. In addition, this position requires the ability to work with staff, Commission members, goverrnment officials, judges, and members of the public with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with SharePoint, Google forms, databases, and web-based research.
