The Salvation Army is looking for an Administrative Assistant for the Operation Home team in Family Services. The successful candidate will have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Software, have excellent interpersonal telephone and communication skills both written and verbal.

The Administrative Assistant (AA) will prepare correspondence for the Operation Home Program Manager, compose letters, memos and e-mails on routine matters of business. This position will answer incoming telephone calls, take messages, give available resources and/or direct to appropriate staff members. The AA will assist the Operation Home team with scheduling of appointments and meetings with clients and taking minutes at meetings and distributing to staff. This person will research information and prepare reports of findings as requested. Other Clerical duties will include filing, sorting and distributing incoming and outgoing mail and preparing purchase orders.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years administrative assistant or related experience
  • Excellent knowledge of and ability to use current Microsoft software computer programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher, as well as e-mail, Adobe Acrobat and the internet
  • Excellent interpersonal, telephone and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent detail, organization and file management skills
  • Ability to work in a team setting with other professionals
  • Ability to maintain a self-motivated and self-directed schedule, address multiple projects in a timely manner and take projects from beginning through completion
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances
  • Must possess a valid Nevada driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle record check
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
