About ORMC:

Odessa Regional Medical Center was founded in 1975 as Odessa Womens and Childrens Hospital. Through the years, the hospital grew and evolved into a full-service healthcare facility and the name was changed to Odessa Regional Medical Center to reflect its larger campus and more comprehensive services. The hospital has 225 beds and has approximately 250 physicians on staff and has over 700 employees.

Today, ORMC offers a wide spectrum of healthcare services, including advanced diagnostic imaging technology, emergency care, innovative surgical procedures, maternity care, comprehensive cardiac services and general medical care.

About the Shift:

6p - 6a, rotating shift

About the Position:

Arranges for the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and admission of individuals who have hospital based outpatient testing or procedures. Ensures that the patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. Interviews incoming patient or representatives and enters information required for admission into computer database. Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments. Participates in performance improvement activities. Responsible for collecting POS & assisting in setting up patient payment plans as necessary. Other duties as assigned.

Regulatory Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivilant
  • COAP Certification Provided by employer

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Additional languages preferred.

Skills:

  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Previous medical terminology/insurance experience preferred.
