Ambulatory Operations Improvement Specialist - Medical Foundation

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the VP & COO - Valley Children's Medical Group, the Ambulatory Operations Improvement Specialist is the driving force for managing improvement initiatives across the Ambulatory setting to deliver business benefits focused on improving and sustaining enhanced access to care and patient experience. The incumbent evaluates and analyzes clinic and regional site operations to achieve desired improvement outcomes by enhancing workflows, creating efficiencies, and standardizing best practices. Engages effectively with key stakeholders to develop and execute project plans, and develop training and/or change management materials and activities to deploy new processes and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Bachelor's degree with a Master's degree preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred. Minimum three (3) years related healthcare operations and process improvement experience is required. Minimum five (5) years increasingly responsible experience with demonstrated proficiency in the skills and working knowledge required to perform the job is preferred.

Additional skills needed to be successful in this role are as follows:

  • Requires excellent communication skills, using an extensive range of persuasion and influencing techniques
  • Experience utilizing data to create reports and prepare proposals
  • Demonstrated project management skills, preferably in a practice/healthcare setting
  • A strong customer focus demonstrated by the proven ability to make customers the key focus for decisions about operational processes
  • Strong collaboration skills with the demonstrated ability to facilitate multi-disciplinary groups
  • Able to positively and confidently communicate changes and to provide support to ensure smooth implementation of change initiatives
