Overview

Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute is seeking a full-time Application Specialist to become a key member of our IT team. The role will be responsible for Deltek CostPoint administration with Cognos or other comparable BI Report Writing experience to design and produce reports to fulfill business requirements. The Administration includes, but not limited to day-to-day Access / Process Controls and end user support. The candidate will also be involved in supporting new initiatives and other IT related projects and tasks as assigned.

This position will interact with Sr. leadership, the finance team and end users to understand business requirements and contribute creative ideas and enhancements to the platform. Will troubleshoot reported issues, gather information, update help-desk tickets, and escalate to vendor support as needed. This position will monitor ticket queue and support Deltek applications related user access requests, changes, and issues for critical as well as non-critical change requests.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field and 4-5 years of directly related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.

Must have the ability to design and deliver reusable and ad-hoc reports using Cognos or other comparable BI tools. Provide guidance, training and support on core functionality in Costpoint and Time and Expense. Must be able to make recommendations for enhanced reporting, data management and to improve operational agility and efficiency. Individual must be able to lead the evaluation, escalation, and resolution of defects with Costpoint, Cognos reporting and Time & Expense modules. Candidate must have the ability to research, gather and analyze information then formulate effective recommendations and actions.

Must have a demonstrated proficiency using BI application tools and report writers as well as strong analytical skills and problem solving. Must have superior professional written and verbal communication skills; a high degree of professionalism and excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a faced-paced environment with multiple projects and shifting priorities as well as the ability to maintain confidential information. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team within a cross-functional team environment.

Advanced understanding of relational databases, SQL, advanced querying techniques and reporting development experience. Must have proven time management skills and attention to detail, along with strong Microsoft Office skills. Participate in planning designing, documenting, implementing, testing and support of business systems/applications.

Relocation assistance may be offered for this position.

A Post-offer background check and the ability to gain and maintain access to Kirtland Air Force base (KAFB) is required.
