Overall Job Objective

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for performing duties related to the operations of the Aquatics Center. Assist Parks, Recreation, and Facilities management in providing general assistance and support to recreational programs and daily activities. Assist with recreational aquatic programs and recreational activities, act as frontline staff for front desk area, perform tasks such as answering phones, taking Splash Pass registrations and checking patrons into the facility, ensuring program participants' safety and well-being, and perform other tasks duties as required.

Hourly pay rate: $13.33 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Greets Aquatics Facilities patrons and assists to answer questions regarding the Aquatics Facilities and the City of Bellaire
    1. Answers the phone and provides excellent customer service
    2. Handles payments and money according to procedures
    3. Maintains the facility for cleanliness and reports maintenance issues
    4. Organizes, leads, and promotes interest in recreational aquatic programs and recreational activities
    5. Enforces and adheres to the personnel, safety, and departmental policies and procedures of the City of Bellaire
    6. Communicate with parents of program participants
    7. Set up prior to and clean up after program activities
    8. Supports other areas of the Recreation Center by assisting with special events
    9. Attends mandatory training and in-service meetings
    10. Confer with management and supervisor to discuss and resolve participant complaints, unusual problems, disturbances, and emergencies
    11. Administer first aid according to prescribed procedures and notify emergency medical personnel when necessary
    12. Act as a liaison between program and field staff
    13. Assists co-workers and other departments as needed
    14. Performs other duties as assigned.
    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum age of 16 years old
    • Experience or training in personal computer use with Microsoft Office software
    LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    • Work hours include morning, evening, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
    • Ability to obtain the following certifications required within 30 days of hire:
      • Standard First Aid Certification
      • CPR-Adult, Child and Infant Airway Obstruction
      • AED-Automated External Defibrilation
    • Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of the following pre-employment checks:
      • Criminal background check (18 years old and older)
      • Controlled substance screening
