GCU College of Doctoral Studies is seeking an innovative, higher education leader to join our exceptional team as an Assistant Dean and Ed.D. Program Chair in the College of Doctoral Studies.

Grand Canyon Universitys College of Doctoral Studies (CDS), College of Doctoral Studies, is seeking an Assistant Dean to serve as a college leader/administrator and Ed.D. Program Chair. This position reports directly to the Dean of the College and will play a pivotal role in management of all doctoral programs. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in helping GCU doctoral students flourish while completing their doctoral degree requirements with academic quality, integrity, and sense of purpose. We are especially interested in applicants who can strengthen the diversity of our academic community.

Please note, the Assistant Dean position is located at our main campus in Phoenix, Arizona.

  • Full-time administrative role supporting all aspects of the academic/research functions of the College of Doctoral Studies and serving as the Ed.D. Program Chair.

What you will do:

  • Maintains current knowledge of all academic functions and operations occurring in Deans Office. May be required to make decisions in the Deans absence.
  • Leads and participates CDS meetings, College/University committee activities at the direction of the Dean
  • Maintains accreditation standards, develop new program offerings, and assist with supervising the teaching, research, and service activities of the college.
  • Has the primary responsibility of managing the Ed.D. program faculty, curriculum, and students.
  • Supports the integrity of the GCU Christian mission, faith integration & learning outcomes.

What you will need:

  • Doctoral degree from an accredited institution required, in education or leadership preferred.
  • Experience supervising doctoral level faculty.
  • Doctoral level teaching and research experience.
  • Minimum five-year management and leadership experience in higher education.
  • Experience with online modality for doctoral programs.
