Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the Director with the management of the day-to-day operations and administration of the Seminole Tribe of Florida's Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum. The individual participates in the development and implementation of the Museums' operational goals and objectives, strategic plans and policies and procedures. The incumbent manages and coordinates the activities and administration of the Museum, including exhibit organization and scheduling, collections care and preservation, research, public educational programming, outreach programs, volunteer programming, public relations, personnel administration, and fundraising initiatives in order to preserve, promote and enhance the Seminole culture, history and traditions to all Museum's visitors. Bachelor's degree in History, Anthropology, Art, Museum Science or related field is required. Master's Degree is preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the management of a Museum Institution and or similarly related environment in a lead management capacity is required. Prior experience in program development, managing budgets and generating financial reports is required. Knowledge of Seminole history and culture is highly preferred. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Knowledge of Past Perfect museum software is preferred. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to travel to all STOF Reservations and to any other existing and/ or prospective business sites. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
