Major/Essential Functions

The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) invites applicants for 12-month, tenure-track audiology faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate level. Rank and salary are dependent upon qualifications and experience. The successful applicant will have an earned Ph.D. degree in audiology, current CCC-A, and be eligible for Texas licensure. In addition, a candidate with appropriate background experience can be considered for moving into the position of Audiology Program Director. The audiology faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in audiology or hearing science, supervise graduate students in audiology practicum, conduct research in their area(s) of interest, and provide service to the department, university, and profession. The audiology area of specialization is open.

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) is a multi-campus institution, with the campus in Lubbock serving as the administrative center. By being a part of a multidisciplinary, multi-school health sciences center, faculty and students have opportunities for interprofessional practice and interprofessional education, in addition to collaborative research.

The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences offers two undergraduate programs (traditional Bachelors and a post-baccalaureate) and three graduate programs (Masters in SLP, AuD, and the Communication Disorders concentration for the Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Science). The Department houses a Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic, serving patients throughout the region. The newly renovated clinic offers comprehensive audiology services with state-of-the-art equipment. This clinic serves as a source of teaching and research activities within the department. The audiology program will also have new research space within the university expansion projects, anticipated to open in 2020.

Required Qualifications
Earned Ph.D Degree in Audiology or related area; Au.D degree will be considered with evidence of scholarly activity (teaching/clinical research).
