Major/Essential Functions
  • Provides inpatient and outpatient general adult neurology clinical services to include epilepsy/clinical neurophysiology services in the assigned neurology outpatient clinic, and provides consultation services in the affiliated hospitals
  • Provides direct patient care and consultative service to other medical professionals
  • Diagnose and treat adults with neurological conditions, to include interpretation of routine EEGs, ICU and epilepsy video EEG monitoring, intraoperative monitoring, and evoked potentials.
  • Supervises resident clinics and participates in the overall teaching program for the teaching and training of residents and medical students, to include the presentation of lectures
  • Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship
  • Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work
  • Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations and adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicines Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English)
  • Fellowship training in Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology or a combination from an accredited program in the United States
  • Board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Regional or emerging national recognition in the area of specialty for associate professor or higher level
  • Certification and/or experience in Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology
