Major/Essential Functions
  • Provides patient care in the areas of ophthalmology in hospital and outpatient settings
  • Instructs and supervises medical students and surgery residents
  • Performs retina surgery, injections, trauma, lasers and emergency ocular management
  • Conducts clinical research and/or produces scholarship related to ophthalmology
  • Provides on-call coverage as scheduled
  • Ensures compliance and HIPAA and billing regulations
  • Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Statement of Faculty Professional Responsibility

  • Board certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology
  • Strong work ethics and good team player

Required Qualifications
  • M.D. / D.O.
  • Successful completion of ACGME-accredited Ophthalmology resident training program
  • Successful completion of fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery
  • Texas Medical License or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas
