Position Summary Passionate about public media? Want to contribute to athriving public service mission impacting your local community? NMPBS, theleader in quality public television broadcasting and outreach services tocentral and northern New Mexico, is seeking a dynamic, seasoned professional tolead our Finance and Administrative unit as our Associate Director of BusinessOperations. This position has a broad scope including the traditional budgetand finance responsibilities as well as overseeing our compliance with UNM,Corporation for Public Broadcasting and Federal Communication Commissionregulations, real estate leases, contract negotiations, inventory control, sponsoredprojects, and working with numerous external and community partners. Thisposition is fast-paced and varied, making it a great fit for those that enjoy thinkingon their feet and engaging in creative problem solving. This positionsupervises 2 FTE, serving an annual budget of $10M, with an annual financialstatement audit component.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing budgets and communicating financial information to diverse audiences including managers, executive leadership and boards of directors.
  • Experience preparing financial reports and other statistical data
  • Supervisory experience of hourly and professional personnel
  • Fluency in UNM transaction processing systems including: Ellucian Banner Finance, Chrome River, UNMJobs, and LoboMart (SciQuest B2B procurement system).
  • Familiarity with GASB and experience working with financial statement auditors
  • Prior experience with a public broadcasting station and familiarity with Corporation for Public Broadcasting reporting requirements and Federal Communication Commission regulations
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with external entities including vendors, foundations, and donors.
  • Basic familiarity with leases and business contracts
