Department: Development, Alzheimers Impact Movement (AIM)

Job Location: Washington, DC with some flexibility for remote work for exceptionally qualified candidates

Reports To: Director, Development

General Summary: The Alzheimers Impact Movement seeks to hire an Associate Director (AD) of Development. The AD will report to the Director of Development and assist in the building and strengthening of the AIM Leadership Society. The AD will direct stewardship and donor communication initiatives as well as managing operational & special initiatives that appropriately and consistently promote interaction with and recognition of donors.

Essential Job Functions

  • Direct a proactive stewardship and communication program for the AIM Leadership Society in coordination with the Director
  • Create and develop the external donor impact reports
  • Ensure members receive appropriate and timely recognition & program deliverables (e.g. website, Impact Report, briefing calls)
  • Manage AIM Leadership Society benefits & stewardship including quarterly calls, distribution of Impact Report, holiday cards, Forum invitations
  • Coordinate development communication deliverables with Association & AIM Marketing & Communication teams, specifically as it pertains to AIM Leadership Society
  • Compile and analyze outcomes of Leadership Society donor experiences - ie: Advocacy
  • Forum, AAIC
  • Coordinate acquisition and maintenance of print and email distribution lists
  • Oversee building the pipeline by coordinating with field leadership on proactive prospecting, relationship building and networking to build the portfolio and strengthen the pipeline of AIM Leadership Society donors and prospects
  • Manage the implementation and execution of nationwide AIM parlor events
  • Responsible for timely recording, gift tracking & acknowledgement of donations (AIM, Allied & PAC) as well as redemption tracking of Allied pledges
  • Collaborate with Association Engagement & Stewardship team on proper acknowledgement and tracking of Association national board and major gift donors who are also AIM donors
  • Responsible for recording and accuracy of AIM prospect & donor interactions and AIM Leadership Society giving in alzimpact.org & Team Approach databases
  • Participate in special projects as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 4-5 years of fundraising experience, including portfolio development, donor cultivation & stewardship and back-office fundraising support
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, plan and carry out activities independently to meet specific timelines and goals
  • Demonstrated skills in the donor engagement and recognition process
  • Ability to maintain flexibility, motivation and enthusiasm
  • Keen understanding of working in a federated, non-profit structure, coupled with desire to work collaboratively across functions and chapters
  • Familiarity with Team Approach and/or other donor database software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google applications
  • Experience working in a 501c4 and/or political campaign setting a plus
  • Working knowledge of Federal Election Commission reports and/or regulations a plus
  • Ability to occasionally work evenings, as workflow or deadlines require
