Salary: $2,332.80 Bi-Weekly

Job Description:

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR: Under the direction of the Vice President, shall perform highly responsible administrative technical and supervisory work with complex and varied duties pertaining to the operations and functions of the component.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters Degree in Business Management, business administration, public administration, education, social services, child development or closely related field. Minimum of four (4) years of responsible administrative experience as documented by past employment relating to supervision of staff operation and function or any combination of education and experience to equal 15 years.

Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting department policy and staff supervision matters. Ability to organize personnel and operations to accomplish project goals within established time limitations. Broad knowledge of rules, regulations, and policy applicable in the processing or completion of business details.

The content area manager is responsible to monitor services in compliance with all performance standards and protocols. On-going monitoring of the established systems and services are imperative to ensure quality services. The content area manager must be able to demonstrate and articulate their on-going monitoring methodology and demonstrate documentation of all systems and services.

JOB CHARACTERISTICS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position is exempt from overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. This is a professional position which requires organizational and communication skills, as well as judgment, tact and diplomacy in contacts with Youth Development, Inc. employees, community residents, parents and local government agencies. Strict adherence is required to all regulations concerning confidentiality.

Good general health. Background investigation to include fingerprinting will be required. TB Skin Test and Physical may be required.

Frequent travel is required by employee and proof of satisfactory car insurance is required.

Youth Development, Inc. is an at-will employer. Employment is by mutual consent of the company and employee, and either may terminate the relationship at any time with or without cause or advance notice. This job is contingent upon funding; however, availability of funding is not a guarantee of continued employment, nor does it imply any specific term of employment.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Not Inclusive):

  • Formulates and defines operational and administrative guidelines for component projects.
  • Formulates and defines programming guidelines for component projects.
  • Prepares and revises operating budgets.Supervises and authorizes all expenditures of project funds.
  • Prepares funding requests and grants as applicable to the operations of the component.
  • Determines and develops new activities for component including fund raising activities and solicitations from various sources.
  • Liaison activities with community and community groups including speaking and program presentation to these groups.
  • Determines and supervises in-house and other training activities in regard to project staff.
  • Is responsible for planning timetables for component grants to include long term activities.
  • Implements Board policies, Youth Development, Inc. regulations, performance standards, and state and local licensing requirements.
  • Interprets all government regulations, transmittal notes, and memoranda pertaining to the Youth Development, Inc. program policies and operating procedures based on these guidelines.
  • Prepares administrative work plan and delegates tasks to staff to carry out the plan.
  • Works closely with the division directors and the Vice President in supervising the various programs; including ensuring contract compliance, staff development, fiduciary accountability, budgeting, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
