Role/Responsibilities
The candidate has an opportunity to join the primary team with a focus on US consumer RMBS/ABS. Prospective candidates will have good exposure to capital markets, fixed income in particular and an in-depth understanding of securitization. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate their ability to work effectively in a team environment. The ideal candidate for this role will possess strong organizational skills, demonstrate attention to detail, and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment.
The candidate will analyze the credit aspects of US consumer RMBS/ABS securitizations, including analysis of the underlying assets, transaction structure, legal documents, and deal-level financial modeling to formulate and substantiate independent credit opinions. The candidate will monitor industry conditions and trends, present transactions, and their analysis to rating committees, and identify and write accurate and relevant credit research. As a collaborative member of a change-driven organization, the candidate will also be expected to complete various special research projects, develop in-depth knowledge of the asset class and pursue thought leadership initiatives to enhance our analytics, outreach, and research impact. The candidate will also gain exposure to ESG credit analytics and assist with process enhancement initiatives.
This will be an external client facing role. Key responsibilities include:
- Perform analysis to assign ratings, research and analytical outreach
- Develop working knowledge of Moodys methodologies in order to apply to various analyses
- Demonstrate the ability to understand and identify key factors that affect credit ratings
- Effectively and persuasively communicates credit knowledge and rationale in both written and oral form
- Develops and maintain an understanding of industry trends and issues
- Perform certain routine administrative and other ad-hoc tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree (or higher) in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering or related field
- 2+ years of relevant work experience
Working knowledge of one or more of the following asset classes:
- Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS),
- Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS),
- Asset Backed Securities (ABS),
- Structured Credit (CLOs, TruPS, etc.)
Must be:
- Highly proficient analysis quantitative, qualitative and modeling using Excel
- Excellent communication (verbal, written) and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate closely with others as well as independently to produce accurate detailed work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Prioritize and handle multiple projects and tasks with a high degree of accuracy and timely delivery
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$116,500 - [[$168,850, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
