ASSOCIATE TEACHER / EARLY HEAD START - Bulletin #004-21

Under the "No Child Left Behind Act of 2001", the law requires that paraprofessionals who assist in classroom instruction meet specific guidelines. This position requires ALL of the following:- Possess an Associate's Degree in early childhood education, child development or related field- Possess an Associate Teacher Permit or higher- High School Diploma or equivalent- Valid pediatric CPR and pediatric First Aid certification issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association- Sixteen (16) hours of Health Education to meet title XXII requirements to include EMSA approved preventive health practices with nutrition component- Valid San Bernardino County Department of Public Health Food Handler Certification Card or FUSD approved Food Handler's Card issued in conformance with County of San Bernardino Public Health Services standards- Six (6) months of experience working in a licensed childcare centerDESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development or related field.- Minimum of one (1) year of work experience working with children in an educational setting.
