This role will provide support in our OrthoQuick location. Friday, 4pm - 8pm, Saturday an Sunday, 8am - 8pm. Flexible to float to other sites as needed.

Under the direct supervision of the supervising physician, the Athletic Trainer will aid in quality orthopedic care and treatment of patients. May assist in Surgery with Orthopedic Technician Certification.

Obtains patient health histories.

Manages and navigates clinic flow.

Performs initial and secondary assessments of patient

Applies and removes casts and dressings.

Applies braces, splints, or other assistive devices.

Removes sutures, assists with wound cares, and assists in minor office procedures.

Administers injections as directed by provider.

Assessment of post operative wounds, and provides standardized instruction in wound care.

Instructs in-home exercise programs per the providers direction/ protocol.

Provides standardized patient education instructions verbal or written.

Conducts research on subject matter related to orthopedic sports medicine.

Documents patient information and care provided in medical record.

Cleans and stocks patient exam rooms

Complies with both Federal and State regulations as well as Summits policies regarding medication disbursement and documentation.

Acts as a liaison between the patient/family and physician. Also acts as a resource to clinical staff in answering orthopedic related questions.

Recognizes and responds to emergency situations.

Complete forms and documentation needed by patients, employers or insurance companies.

Other duties and special projects, as assigned.
