Who we are

Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing (SMS) is one of Americas top-five non-bank mortgage-servicing companies. What is mortgage servicing? Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans (such as banks and real estate investment firms). On their behalf, we manage (or "service") their loan portfolios, which means that we collect homeowners mortgage payments, pay their tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current.

Summary:

This position provides quality control and audit oversight for the functions performed within Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and review accounts, items, or processes selected for audit

  • Uses databases to maintain detailed audit records

  • Assist with generation of error reports.

  • Conduct daily call monitoring audits as assigned.

  • Complete monthly work flow audits.

  • Assist in design and implementation of audit enhancements and/or new audits to monitor regulatory compliance.

  • Manage action plans for items of non-compliance.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Detail oriented, strong organizational skills and the ability to learn new processes.

  • An ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

  • A self-motivated work style and a strong desire to exceed expectations.

  • Strong knowledge of mortgage servicing and default processes.

  • Average skill levels in MS Excel are required.

  • Above average skills in quality and production rates.

  • Able to effectively interact with members of the functional areas including Customer Service/Collections, Loss Mitigation, Foreclosure, Bankruptcy and Loan Administration.

  • Ability to meet timelines.

  • Experience with regulatory and investor websites including AllRegs.

  • Knowledge of servicing requirements including FNMA, FHLMC, HUD, VA, and USDA.

Educational Requirements:

  • College degree or a combination of some college and relevant experience.
