The barback provides friendly, professional, and exceptional service while maintaining the work areas of the bar venues.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Stocks and maintains a well-organized bar.
  • Prepares the bar for service, including filling of the ice bins, cutting fruit and other bar needs.
  • Washes all glassware and keeps the bar free of clutter or debris.
  • Monitors alcohol consumption and maintains awareness of customers behavior and conduct.
  • Adheres to all alcohol service requirements as dictated by state, Santa Ana Pueblo law and applicable Gaming Commission regulations.
  • Greets the guest with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Promotes the culture and values of Santa Ana Star Casino while acting with integrity and honesty.
  • Maintains a positive attitude during business regardless of volume and needs to create a great guest experience.
  • Follows all SASC operational policies and procedures, including those for safety and sanitation, cash handling, and product specifications.
  • Keeps a clean, sanitary, and organized work space throughout each shift.
  • Handles multiple responsibilities and priorities on an ongoing basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Preference is given to qualified Santa Ana Tribal members.
  • Obtain a New Mexico liquor servers license and a Food Handlers card within 90 days of hire.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent guest service skills a must.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and communication skills and a professional appearance.
  • Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays.
  • Bi-lingual and multi-cultural experience preferred.
  • A smartphone capable of running company applications and communication systems is required. If a smartphone is not provided by the company, a candidate or employee may be provided a smartphone of the companys choice, through a payroll deduction program.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Pueblo of Santa Ana Gaming and Regulatory Commission non-gaming license.
