Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for directing and supervising assigned shift personnel in fire and rescue operations or assigned to a administrative division of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The incumbent serves as Incident Commander, assumes command and control of fire scenes; supervises the work of extinguishing fires, supervises response to emergency medical incidents, natural disasters, and hazardous materials scenes. The employee may perform administrative or operational duties in a variety of services essential to effective operation of the department. Prior experience as Fire Officer I is required. Associates Degree in Fire Science, Emergency Services or related field is preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in fire suppression and prevention with at least three (3) years working in a Lieutenant capacity is required. An equivalent combination of education/training and experience may be considered. Certification of Firefighter II/Paramedic from the State of Florida is required. Must possess a valid State of Florida Class "E" Driver's License. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate experience utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
