OQ & Poly Fusion Training Instructor Job Description

The OQ and Fusion Instructor is responsible for teaching Operator Qualifications (OQ) and Fusion Training courses to customers, utilizing existing training materials, standard training methods, and knowledge of the products and services offered by the company.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Coordinate all training activities and programs to ensure all employees complete OQ training within required time frames.
* Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats such as role playing, team exercise, group discussions, videos or lectures.
* Facilitate traditional classroom safety training.
* Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures.
* Maintain accurate records of training completed and attendance.
* Communicate with OQ & specific training to obtain scheduled classes.
* Price and secure individual travel arrangements for training assignments, including transportation and lodging.
* Attend meetings or seminars to obtain information for use in training programs or to inform management of training program status.
* When not in the classroom:
o Maintain equipment, and inventory for machines and materials utilized in training courses, as well as standard training forms for courses offered.
o Contact customers as needed or as requested to gather feedback from services rendered or to determine future training needs.
o Assist with and provide internal training for employees in qualified areas as requested and needed.

Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
* Must have Gas distribution experience and has completed Operator Qualifications within the natural gas distribution in the past
* Poly fusion
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
* OSHA Certification a plus but not required
* Minimum of five years related experience and / or training required
* Experience in the construction, pipeline, or oil and gas industry a must
* Ability to interact tactfully and respectfully with all levels of management and colleagues internally, as well as with clients and vendors externally

LANGUAGE/MATH/REASONING ABILITY
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
* Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, tool tracking software, etc. (Microsoft Word and Excel)

Physical Demands
* Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner

Work Environment
* Uncontrolled indoor and outdoor environments.
* Normal operating hours and days: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00pm
with some weekends and nights required to meet customer needs.
* 45+ hours/week required according to the needs of the department
* Up to 75% short and long term travel

Compensation:
$74K plus a company truck
