MISSION STATEMENT

The Salvation Army is looking to fill a Billing Clerk for the Operation Home unit. The successful candidate will be organized, able to function in a fast paced changing work environment with the ability to function effectively without supervision.

The Billing Clerk will prepare and submit accurate invoices/billings to awarding agencies for grants, Contracts and other foundations. This employee will assist departmental/program employees with internal billings. The Billing Clerk will process invoices (accounts payable and receivable batches) to DHQ Finance for processing and payment. This position will assist with processing cash receipts and perform credit card processing in the office and at Salvation Army outside functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED. Associates degree preferred
  • Medical billing preferred
  • Able to type 40 wpm
  • 10 key experience
  • Ability to be organized and handle detailed information in a clear manner
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, frequently changing work environment
  • Ability to function effectively without supervision, and demonstrate a professional approach to problem solving
  • Must have good computer skills using MS Office with intermediate level knowledge of Excel
  • Preferred to have one (1) year of experience working knowledge of, or the ability to learn the Shelby Accounting System
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Leadership skills, problem solving capabilities, and the ability to maintain a positive attitude and professional manner at all times but especially when dealing with outside agents
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English. Ability to communicate in Spanish is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle records check
  • Required to pass a criminal background check.
