SUMMARY:Performs basic level work in the installation, calibration, inspection, preventive maintenance, and repairs of biomedical and related technical equipment. Is responsible for actions taken to accomplish tasks as directed. Direct supervision received from Manager and Supervisor. Functional supervision may be received from Biomedical Technician II, III, or the IS Clinical Engineering Lead.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Subscribes to and upholds established standards of behavior.Works collaboratively and supports efforts of other team members.Supports quality improvement initiatives through team participation, data collection, process change implementations, and other activities.Maintains confidentiality and protects sensitive data at all times, including patient information, proprietary information and personnel information.Analyzes electronic equipment for cause of failure; isolates, tests and replaces defective parts.Uses available test equipment to determine problems and repair medical devices.Works with manufacturers on repair work and orders parts needed for equipment repair and maintenance; performs preventive maintenance inspection and electrical safety testing; makes necessary operational adjustments to electronic equipment and take sensitivity, selectivity, and accuracy measurements.Provides correct, precise, and timely documentation of maintenance actions performed including documentation required by regulatory agencies. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION: Associate of the Applied Sciences Degree in Electronics Technology or related field preferred. DOD Program Training.EXPERIENCE: One year of related experience or internship in a Biomedical Engineering or Technology Management program.LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: None required. CBET preferred.
