Full time 40 hours per week

Monday through Friday Schedule

Qualifications: Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Current nursing registration in Massachusetts, BSN preferred. Demonstrated clinical competence in the specialty area of nursing practice preferred. Is proficiently knowledgeable about breast diseases. A certified breast health navigator or eligible for certification at the time of hire required.

Assess to identify high-risk patients (physical, psychological and social), identify any healthcare barriers and provide early triage or intervention.

Monitor patients total response to care for optimum outcomes.

Develop a care plan that addresses and removes healthcare barriers and meets the needs and expectations of both the patient and physicians.

Monitor for symptoms of exacerbation of disease or maladaptation to illness.

Demonstrated use of clinical skills and expertise in the area of breast disease, breast cancer treatments and psychosocial impact of disease on recovery.

Provides thorough, timely, and accurate documentation of all pertinent data, therapeutic interventions and patient responses including assessment, care plan, patient goals, and interventions according to established standards.

Assumes accountability for remaining current regarding standards of care established by the profession, regulatory and accreditation bodies and hospital policies and procedures.

Track, follow and guide all new breast cancer patients from the time of diagnosis until they are handed off to Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology.

Educate patients with respect to surgical procedures, breast imaging, needle localizations, sentinel node injections, drains, postop care and expectations after surgery.

Follow and track all patients having US and Stereotactic biopsies to confirm pathology, diagnosis and concordance and having results available timely to the ordering physician.
