Business Analyst Intern

Internship Description:

Freedom is seeking a motivated business analyst intern who is ready to apply knowledge of business practices and processes in a fast-paced, real-world environment in the financial services industry. In this 12 week internship program, the intern will be exposed to multiple business units in an effort to conduct research, analyze data, and make recommendations to improve effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and programs.

Interns will be provided a variety of opportunities to job shadow employees in each operational unit and experience hands on how employees perform their roles. Interns will participate in training sessions focused on preparing them for their final project. This training will center around continues improvement which may include; data analysis, customer interaction analysis, process analysis, root-cause analysis, process documentation, opportunity evaluation, impact evaluation, product evaluation, market evaluation, compliance and risk management.

Interns will be assigned a project at the beginning of the program, to be completed by the end of the program, which aligns with the company strategy and will allow them to leverage what they learned during their internship.

By the end of this internship, the intern will have gained in depth understanding of how functional areas within a financial services operations business unit support the overall company strategy, how these areas function independently and co-dependently while gaining insight into job functions within financial operations.

Starting May 24, 2021, Concluding August 13, 2021

Two days on site, three days working from home

Compensation $18.00 per hour, eligible for benefits

Intern duties and responsibilities:

• Analyze business goals, objectives, and needs
• Help plan and design business processes and make recommendations for improvements
• Perform research and analysis in support of the operations
• Assist in resolving business issues using systems and data
• Estimate cost and benefits of multiples actions and/or solutions and provide recommendations
• Help launch new initiatives
• May perform additional project upon request

Requirements and qualifications:

• Current undergraduate student at an accredited university, between Junior and Senior year
• Business Administration or related major in progress
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organization skills
