    Summary:
    Under the direction of the BVSDCC Sous Chef, the BVSDCC Warewasher will be responsible for the maintenance of an orderly, clean, and sanitary Warewasher area, and to maintain a high standard of cleanliness for all items moving through the station. The Warewasher effective work will depend on a high level of speed, quality, and teamwork, to ensure that the overall BVSDCC operations can be completed effectively on a daily basis. Through the application of additional building wide custodial services, the Warewasher will help provide a safe, sanitary, and clean environment for the entire facility.

    Responsibilities:
    -Washes dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and carts.
    -Transports clean dishes, pots, pans, and utensils around the entire BVSDCC area.
    -Restocks chemicals and supplies, and notifies the supervisor if supplies are needed.
    -Removes trash, recycling, and compost from the entire BVSDCC area.
    -Maintain and clean dumpster areas of exterior of building.
    -Maintain staff restrooms and shower areas throughout the day (clean and re-stock with soap and paper towels as needed).
    -Maintain all chemicals, hand soap, and paper towels supplied throughout the building.
    -Clean all kitchen hand sinks daily. Clean office areas of the building.
    -Cleans floors, floor drains and grates of the building daily.
    -Clean floor mats as needed.
    -Utilize mechanical floor cleaning equipment as needed.
    -Clean refrigerated and storage area daily or as directed.
    -Remove snow and ice from areas around the building not accessible by snow plows. Other exterior seasonal building maintenance projects, as assigned.
    -Cleans sinks, floors and walls of warewashing area daily, and as needed. Work with Custodial staff to support overall the cleaning and sanitizing of the BVSDCC.
    -Records and maintains temperature and sanitation logs for equipment.
    -Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:
    Required:

    -High school diploma or equivalent
    -Completed and submitted BVSD online application
    -Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English
    -Must pass Food Service (FS) Online Training Assessment, including Sanitation course by completion of probationary period
    -Must obtain ServSafe Certificate; within probationary period
    -Offer contingent upon passing post offer physical
    -Ability to operate hand truck; required at entry
    -Ability to operate pallet jack; must acquire within 1 month
    -Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs

    Preferred:
    -Ability to operate Warewashing Machines
    -Ability to operate the Three Sink Dishwashing System
    -Proper Safety in the Handling of Chemicals
    -Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
    -Safely and effectively operate custodial and maintenance equipment and tools
    -Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures and preventative measures when using cleaning agents

    Salary Information:
    -Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
